I accidentally stumbled upon the existence of this one on Aliexpress here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Got tricked by the lying advertisements claiming: 6.88mm<\/span><\/del> thin \u00f845.8mm<\/span><\/del> \u00f81.43″ display \u00f8466 pixels. (found both 6.88<\/span> and 6.8<\/span> mentioned, assumed the worst…)
\nSo I ordered it on the spot. I later also found this<\/a> on Alibaba. and here we seem to have a name “NWZ01<\/strong>“.
\nWhen I git it in reality: 8.3<\/strong>mm<\/span> and \u00f846.2<\/strong><\/span>mm!!<\/em>
\nIn Version in the menues it is called “MT55<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

All I currently know is what the listing(s) tells me, including this<\/a> video, and the few measurement I have done. As so often with Chinese watches ‘branded’ by the seller.<\/p>\n

I’m less certain on the manufacturer. Though several different sellers states “696” as the brand, I doubt it. I also see “N plus 1”, “N+1” or “NpuOne”, e.g. here<\/a>. Pointing to www.smartwatch-n.com<\/a> More interesting is this https:\/\/www.globalsources.com\/Smart-watch\/smart-watch-1213819222p.htm<\/a><\/p>\n

It reminds quite a bit of the TN88<\/a>. Oversized but classic watch design<\/strong>, BUT with much less oversized arms. So a competitor of sort.<\/p>\n

From the images and video I’m quite sure that at is a variant of the firmware we also got in the TN88, and the new trio of T8<\/a>. All three using variants of JL7012 and JL7013.<\/p>\n

I unfortunately also found confirmed that it uses the same shitty app “Da-Fit”, a more appropriate name would be “Tha’Shit”<\/p>\n

So though they lied, it is still quite a lot thinner than almost all competitors.<\/p>\n

Calculus gives 4.9mm bezel-ring from screen edge to case edge.<\/p>\n

The length is 50.5mm<\/strong> (measured), so a substantial bit less than the TN88. Actually the length is like the first T8 from 2022, but that one got more down-pointing arms.<\/p>\n

This one got arms that extends only slightly below the backplate, so will suit smaller arms better than the TN88 but worse than the T8 (2022, 2023, 2024, new 2024 and Pro) but<\/strong> offers the same screen-size as the TN88.<\/p>\n

The TN88 is substantially worse here with the arms ending above<\/em> the backplate, and the arms being longer.<\/p>\n

It is on the limit of what can be used on my arm without hoovering.<\/p>\n

Band is 22mm Standard pin..<\/p>\n

It weighs in at 26.62g<\/strong> for the watch case alone, and 44.52g in<\/strong>cluding a ‘rubber’ band.<\/p>\n

It got speaker and two microphones. Where one will be completely covered by the arm, and the second that will be somewhat blocked. What we see at the ‘top’ (to the right here) is the speaker.<\/p>\n

I see five LEDs and a sensor.
\nHere the speaker channel is more visible.
\n(what at first looks like a third<\/em> microphone (under 2 o’clock), actually is just a reflection in the blank back-plate).<\/p>\n

I seem to have been the first one that bought it on AliExpress, so most likely a very new listing:<\/p>\n

In real life<\/h3>\n

One thing that I immediately noticed was that it has no protrusion at all. Or you could say that the protrusion is 36mm wide, and covers practically the whole back, with a 5mm slanted ring.<\/p>\n

The whole design feels like a real watch in the hand, though a bit huge. With the classic curved edges of the glass over the dial. As this is not a sapphire, it will be in danger for scratches, when bumped into something.<\/p>\n

The back feels completely smooth (less the microphone holes and charging pins obviously), I can not feel or see any surface change where the LEDs and sensor are. So it must be some thin film or paint (And yes I have removed the protective plastic….)<\/p>\n

While trying to take the photo of the back, the three green LEDs for the HR fired:

The software offered an upgrade from MOY-V524-2.0.0<\/strong> to MOY-V524-2.0.2<\/strong>, I have no idea what the difference is.<\/p>\n

It is basically the same software experience as the new T8 trio, with a slightly different selection of faces, but I have no idea (yet?) if the MT55 is better or worse at measuring.<\/p>\n

I bought two colour variations, and one is supposed to be black, but is so shiny that it is hard to see the difference, especially outdoors.<\/p>\n

The difference is slightly more distinct indoors<\/p>\n

So you might be kind and call it sort of “gun metal”.<\/p>\n

Size compare<\/h3>\n

Here the T8 Mini, T8 (Pro), MT55 and TN88 next to each other, and as a ‘stack’, will attempt do this better when I got the DW01 available as well<\/p>\n

Conclusion (sort of)<\/h3>\n

It proved much bigger than advertised, and did not really offer anything interesting over the much mor compact DW01<\/a>, so they are back in the boxes, so no full review here, and unlikely to be updated much…<\/p>\n

You get the same functions and display in a substantially lesser body (+rotary button) with the DA09<\/a>, at about the same price, so don’t see much point in getting the MT55\/MT56<\/p>\n
