I stupidly bought this SR08 aka LK9, that’s worse than both the R13 and SY01…. Here the ad-image.
It does have two tiny advantages though
It got an extra entry on the list so you can turn the display OFF from the ring
Multiple taps cycle through
Time ►Steps ►HR ►SpO2 ► Sleep ►battery percentage ►LCD Off ►
HR and SpO2 takes an ‘instant’ reading if you dwell at it.
The LCD Off is a really nice idea (if it had worked) if you want to be sure you are NOT interacting with it accidentally, or want it more anonymous for a while. Just hold the ‘button’ for a while, and the display turns off. And the idea is you will need to hold again for three seconds to reactivate. But unfortunately that is REALLY easy to do accidentally when using your hands for just about anything, so does not stay off in real life. The ides is fine though but something more odd like say quick-triple-tap to activate would have been better, and less likely to happen accidentally.
Heart rate ‘monitoring’ can be selected each 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or Off.
SpO2 is manual only (no monitor while sleeping either).
The display is a very bluish white, and is about 20x5mm, so similar size as the R13. And it seems even brighter. So that is actually sort of a plus. But you can not regulate the brightness down, so can be a little much indoors, though you can (at the least in principle) turn it off.
The app “JRing” is as could be expected very simple, as so little is offered, but the principles are the same as so many others.
At different sites I’ve seen slightly different info on the battery, but to sum it up, they use different batteries for different sizes, so a #8 got 15mAh, #11 18mAh and #13 20mAh. That is a nice detail, I did not see similar mentioned on neither Sy01 nor R13.
I got no info on the size of the battery in the charging base. No print and nothing in the listings.
I don’t think that more really need to be said about this ring, but I really can not see any reason what so ever for this being 24% more expensive (read: less cheap) than the R13, So I guess I might have been double-tricked, both in buying it in the first place and buying it the wrong place here, though many others sell it even more expensive.
(To make thing worse they sent the wrong size, but that is the sellers fault not the rings, so is being returned)
