Newer reviews can be expected to be ongoing projects, with minor additions or corrections.
Note: When I rate stuff, a 10/10 does not indicate perfect in an absolute academic sense, but as in (at least) as good as could be expected at the time, minor flaws allowed. For portable devices typically limited by the size and weight. Value for money also counts. An electronic device that got a high score in 2005, most likely would seem like pure trash ten years later….
2026-05-11. After using Discus for many years, and using an ad-blocker, I only recently noticed all its ads, so now switching to WpDiscuz.
- Android vs WPD bug. Wrong filesizes reportedContinue reading...

I stumbled upon a strange bug in what Android can report to e.g. Windows trough the MTP/WPD interface.
Under some circumstances it reports a VERY wrong file size, but if you by WPD open a stream and copy the file until it sends no more bytes, it returns the correct full content.
- Fix for windows update issues, e.g. KB3213986Continue reading...

Many people are experiencing issues installing the cumulative update KB3213986

And there are a lot of pages on this suggesting the usual stop/rename/start stuff, but that did not do the trick on a machine I had to fiddle with.
The answer was .NET – again !!!
- Windows display scaling blurring legacy programsContinue reading...

Windows display scaling is great for programs that support it. But certainly not for all.
Especially legacy apps get blurred, so use integer only, if possible!

- Get new/changed files from WPD-device, e.g. Android. Enhanced version of Christophe Geers’ PortableDevicesContinue reading...

I stumbled upon this nice project by Christophe Geers.
And edited and enhanced it to a tool that works a bit like an advanced REPLACE /UPDATE to a tree on the PC based on the name of the device and the drives it exposes.
It is an efficient way to get changed & new files from a device to a PC.
Update: Now supports Exclude also.
It works with a WPD connected device, e.g. an Android device USB-connected in MTP or PTP mode.
Here an example of some of the tree generated
Most backup tools does NOT allow you to do an incremental backup, but they DO allow you to deselect e.g. images. So use this tool to do the incremental backup of the huge WPD-exposed stuff like the images/videos/music, and let your backup tool do backups of all the rest – and in more finite time than a total backup of everything every time – thus making it a bliss to take backups much more often….
Blog in English (well sort of, bare with me, non-native…), a few earlier than 2010 are just blunt copies of the source texts in Danish – Google translate helps here….
Collecting of old stuff started May 2015. Entries are generally attempted dated with original stamps, even if they are somewhat updated since, several reviews have been ongoing ‘projects’.

atleast show the courtesy to explain . . why you blocked me in the first place. .
Aloha! You got your own website?
Aloha! 🙂
Yeah,. I finally pulled my self together, and gathered some of the old stuff I’ve posted, starting a couple of weeks ago.
The camera reviews were originally posted on a once great Norwegian site (akam.no) that is now dwindling and dying as a tiny unattended corner of a larger tech site, So I thought I’d better save the stuff before it was too late and they closed it completely. *G*
Unfortunately I never did reviews on my first four digital cameras (Pentax Optio S , S4, S5i and the legendary FujiFilm F30 that was the lo light king among compacts for years) – but who would care in 2015 anyway *LOL*
Wow good move…Will we see any content about mobile & other tech?
Could be. I haven’t planned any, but you never know.
Maybe I will add some small ones also, where I link to others reviews also. My monitor is certainly worth a bit of ‘advertising’.
